Memorial Day crowds visit Spartansburg from distant towns
Memorial Day in Spartansburg drew many out of town visitors who joined local residents in services and remembrance. The day featured flowers on graves, neighborly greetings, and the Spartan Band playing old tunes as families shared meals and socialized while noting many past residents in attendance and others remembered. Local merchants plan Wednesday half-day closings during summer, with extensive visiting and conversations about crops and community life.
