Close Call As Car Upsets And Catches Fire
Capt and Mrs Stonet Houghton and their daughter Phyllis were returning from Fort Benning Georgia when their car collided with another near Westminster Ohio. The car overturned and caught fire destroying the vehicle though luggage was saved. Phyllis, asleep in the rear, escaped unharmed and was rescued before flames. The family continued to Pittsburgh by bus then bought a car and reached Corry last night.

A six year manhunt ended as Philip K. Knapp, a former Corell University student and army deserter, was captured near New York after being sought since July 2, 1945 for the Panella murder in Hempstead.
