Murder Suspects in Missing Child Case Are Mother and Boarder

In Indianapolis the detective head admits arrests of Dr Winters and Mrs Winters were a mistake. Letters allegedly incriminate Mrs Winters and WT Cooper in the murder of Catherine Winters, who has been missing for a year. Abel, the investigator, is said to have acted hastily, now reassigned to Columbia, while evidence in police hands shifts toward new suspects. Excitement remains high as rumors of kidnapping and murder are investigated and then dismissed.

Early Escaped Leper Captured in Washington City

United Press reports Joan Early, the leper who fled a Tacoma area leprosarium on May 17, was identified in Washington D C and detained. He had been sought nationwide since his escape, and a capital newspaper man verified his identity before he was again placed in detention. An August 1908 finding labeled him a leprosy victim, and he registered at a well known hotel after arriving Sunday evening.

Junior Class Day Plans Completed at High School

The Junior Class has fully organized this year’s Junior Class Day to occur Friday. The day includes school events followed by an evening performance of the play Room to Let in the auditorium, with tickets on sale. Afterward, soon-to-be graduates will present more entertainment including moving pictures. Participants include Tourdet, Babbitt, Youip, Osborne, and Misses Drouht O’Neil and Wallace, with a post event dance at K of P Hall.

By United Press June 2 New York The steamer Antilla of Ward line sailed from Brooklyn with three million rounds of ammunition and a military aeroplane for the Constitutionalists in Mexico. The cargo sailed with no interference from customs officials and no word of detention from Washington.

Eighty Nine Bodies Identified After Empress of Ireland Wreck

Quebec June 2 up to this morning eighty nine of the one hundred and eighty eight bodies recovered after the Empress of Ireland wreck had been identified. The remaining ninety nine are to be embalmed and placed in receiving vaults until all hope of identification by friends or relatives passes. Funerals for some identified yesterday and last night are arranged today. Next Thursday will see the interment of Yongols crew members in Mt. Herman and St. Patrick's cemeteries with officials from the Canadian Pacific Line and the Dominion government attending and the Royal Canadian Garrison Artillery band participating. Rimouski reports indicate no further bodies recovered. dynamite may be used to clear the wreck.

Annual session of State Mothers Pension Board opens in Pittsburgh

The United Press reports the annual meeting of the State Mothers Pension Board begins in Pittsburgh with Mayor Armstrong welcoming members. The session at the Board of Trade Rooms will run at least four days. Auditor General Powell and Speaker Alter of the State Legislature are among the speakers, joined by Rub Colle.
