Clymer Gets New State Police Station Backed by Town Leader

In July 1978 the New York State Police opened a three member satellite station in the Town of Clymer to curb crime. Sgt. Albert Whaley and Troopers David Baker and Donald Tefft logged 56 incidents since June, including 12 arrests ranging from burglary to assault. Whaley credits community support and says the local response has improved with the station in place. The unit operates from the Clymer fire hall, covering Sherman Mina and French Creek, and emphasizes proactive patrols and local presence.

Advertising tax bill targets Pennsylvania ads and economy

A Senate Bill 340 amendment proposes a six percent tax on ad purchases to fund lost property tax relief for seniors.
