Miss Margaret L. Swanson, long time assistant manager at Fairhaven Housing Development, is promoted to manager of the sea housing setup, succeeding Burl A. Alexander who moves to Chambersburg Pa. The promotion takes effect July 3 and Swanson will oversee the Fairhaven Development while Alexander heads the War Housing Center and a large federal project there. No successor named yet for Titusville Sunset Heights development. an appointment is expected soon.
Ford chairman Henry Ford, aged 80, celebrated his 81st year with plans for continued work at Ford Motor Co. He traveled to Northern Michigan aboard an ore carrier with Mrs. Ford for a three week vacation, asserting the upcoming period will focus on producing needed goods and expanding the companys freedom of action.

A 13 year old boy known to radio audiences as Boy Manners and for Little Lord Fauntleroy died when a backyard shelter collapsed in an accident. The incident occurred in Lan Francisco on July 5. The child, Stephen Floyd George, was buried under debris after the cave-in.
