Miners Rescued After 43 Hours Underground in Bridgeville

Six miners trapped in the Ollett Coal Company mine near Bridgeville, Pennsylvania, were found safe and well after 43 hours underground. U S Bureau of Mines engineer Qushon swam 500 feet to reach them. they described the rescue and the narrow escape as water rose to only inches from the top.

Two Survivors Hospitalized After Kentucky Air Crash

An American Airlines flight from Louisville to Nashville crashed near Trammel Kentucky. Two survivors, Lieut Glenn W Fellows and S H Hofman of Williamsport Pa, were hospitalized in Bowling Green after the wreck. Two Lawrence Park Boys Drown in Lake

Two Lawrence Park youths Willam rackson 13 and Michael McEngh 15 drowned while swimming off Four Mile Creek. McHugh sacrificed his life attempting to rescue his companion as coast guard and local fire departments searched for six hours without success. Both boys were students at Lawrence Park school and relatives mourn their deaths.

Two Young Women Held for Forgery After Bank Check Scam
