Harrisburg AP The Democrat led Senate Appropriations Committee seeks budget cut ideas from Republicans after leaders failed to push a 3.09 billion spending bill. Sen. Weekend Crashes Occupy Troopers and Others

Multiple weekend accidents in the Union City region left two people treated and released for injuries from a two car crash on Route 89 near Lovell's Station. Other incidents included a cow-damage collision on Route 426 near Corry, a head-on on Route 77 near West Spring Creek with no injuries, a fog related off road crash on Route 8 near Lowville with no injuries, and a hit and run on Route 97 near Union City with minimal damages. A jail suicide occurred when David Smith, 19, was found hanged in his cell at Jamestown.

Fine Weather Sparks Weekend Hi Jinks In Union City

City police rounded up several lawbreakers over the weekend. At 2am yesterday officers stopped Garry L. Proper, 21, of Brown Street, after he failed to show a valid registration. He was charged with larceny of a license plate, driving with stolen temporary plates, and improper registration. Proper was arraigned by District Justice Justin Butters and will receive a summons. Downtown Loblaws will remain open says official

Richard Murray, divisional manager for Loblaws, says the downtown store will not close this month and will stay open unless business falls off. Rod And Gun Club Sale Confirmed

The Corry Rod and Gun Club building on East Washington Street will be sold to the Pennsylvania National Guard. Dial Realty, Inc. broker M. S. Cobbett said guard officials viewed the property and sent a confirming letter. No payment is expected for about one to six months as the guard plans to use the land as a parking lot.
