Week long driving suspensions and city treasurer changes
The Bureau of Traffic Safety suspended two motorists during the week of July 10, naming Gerald E. Darling of 616 Spring Street and John J. Kozik of RD Columbus with indefinite license suspension and 18 days respectively for reckless driving. Ployd B. August was elected Titusville treasurer for a term beginning January 1964, filling the unexpired term of Miss Sar Nevins who resigned August 1 after 13 years in office. A collision on North Center Street involving a log truck and two cars caused damage but no injuries. Davis took responsibility and will be cited for driving in the wrong traffic lane. Additional notes cover a gun use permit for animal control, a dog and horse incident, and various civic planning and local government actions surrounding post office plans, bottle company donations, and municipal street work.

Soldiers at a US Air Force base in Britain have had tobacco and liquor cards removed for black market activity. A spokesman said illicit purchases occurred on base exchanges in Britain, where cigarettes could be bought at 14 cents per pack and spirits at set prices, avoiding US tax rules.
