Poincare and Cabinet Set to Discuss British Reparations Note
Paris July 2 Premier Poincare summoned the French Cabinet to an extraordinary session to consider the British note to Germany on reparations. The note proposes an impartial commission to assess Germany’s ability to pay, French aid to Belgians withdrawing troops, and a reshipment of German forces from the Rhine. France’s stance remains cautious while Britain favors talks and a firm German capitulation is rejected by most parties.
