Corry City Council halted action on eight tractor bids after readings and specifications review. Bids ranged from 9,995 for a used unit to 14,850 for a new one. Lightning Strikes Substation Blacking Out Titusville
A severe storm knocked out power and telephone service to Titusville and nearby towns after lightning hit the Key Sub-station transformers. About eight thousand residents were left in darkness. power was restored by 5 06 a m. Emergency crews and civil defense workers aided, water service ran on emergency power, and local facilities operated on generators. Witnesses reported flames shooting high into the sky and a bright, sparking display seen up to 15 miles away. The city council meeting was cut short and the Titusville Herald could not publish from its plant.

Corryite Seeks Sewer Refund and Advice at Council
City Council heard Corry resident William R. Rhodes 505 West Smith Street challenge sewer rentals on a former trailer court and a service station now defunct claiming he paid $224 since 1954. Mayor J Fred Kinley explained the sewer line remains connected to all portions of the property so Rhodes would still owe for the house while the garage and trailer court would be charged under the vacancy clause unless service is cut off. Rhodes pressed for a refund but council upheld the ordinance detailing who pays and why, ultimately agreeing to cut off service at the street for the garage and trailer court to stop charges.
