The Women's Relief Corps Auxiliary to the Grand Army held an afternoon party in Em manuel Episcopal Church undercroft to fund patriotic work. Mrs. Mary Robbins chaired, with Mrs. Velma Long Mildred Hulings and Etta Sargent shown among attendees as gifts and prizes were given. Melinda Chace daughter of Mr and Mrs Paul Gustave Chace of Fryeburg Maine married Charles H Bracken Jr son of Mr and Mrs Charles H Bracken of Erie formerly Corry. The wedding at the bride’s home was officiated by Rev Frederic R Murray with maid of honor Melissa Chace and bridesmaids Emily Fine Powers and Sarah H Daniels. Best man Barton Bracken and ushers Douglas Bracken and Dan P Barrett. The couple, graduates of Bates College and McDowell High School, plan to reside in Pittsburgh while pursuing advanced degrees. The Bracken family hosted guests from Corry.
A bridal shower at The Rustic Restaurant honored Miss Diane Hall, bride to be of Darrell Huffman. Hostesses were Jan Hall and Kared Smith. Twenty six guests enjoyed games and a decorated shower cake with prizes awarded to Linda Dodd Barb Jaworski Mildred Hall. Debbie Casler won a special award. The couple will wed August 13 1977 at the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Corry.
