Mayflower blimp wrecked at airport killing two fliers
United Press reports the Goodyear blimp Mayflower tore from moorings at Municipal airport in Kansas City. Explosion from the gasoline tank followed a windstorm forcing a landing, causing the blimp to crash into high tension wires and burst into flames. Pilot B. Brannigan of Akron was critically injured. Hobensack and Horton helped rescue others. Separate Chicago crash killed Chester Bailes and Warren, two veteran transport pilots, when a Lockheed Vega failed to climb from 500 feet.

Saltsman and Wife Die In Auto Crash Near Westfield
Shester S Saltsman 40 and his wife were killed when their car overturned after a curve near Westfield on the Buffalo road. Coroner Crandall said Saltsman crossed the white line, struck truck caps, and the vehicle traveled hundreds of feet before overturning. Mrs Saltsman died instantly from a broken neck. he died shortly after rescue. A family history tale notes a prior fatal auto crash involving his mother and brother near Phoenix. The couple, noted for social prominence, were traveling from Buffalo, N C. to visit relatives when the accident occurred shortly before 1 AM.

Plane saves soldier choking on false teeth during flight
