Auto Kills Deer On Route 6
A deer was struck and killed by an auto about 9:40 last evening three miles west of Corry on Route 6. The driver Morris E. Lindsey 28 of Clarendon Pa said the animal suddenly jumped onto the highway and he could not stop. The dead deer was removed by deputy game warden Lyle Watrous. Damage to the car was about $200.

Mother Kills Committed Son in Honolulu Tragedy
Eleanor Mahi aged 38 shot her son Thomas 1 in the chest with a 32 caliber pistol then killed herself. They were found in a locked car in a remote area of Oahu after the planned commitment to the territorial mental hospital was aborted.

Alamosa ledge survivor recounts five day battle with sleep
John L. Sanders, 95, clung to a three by four foot rock ledge for five days and nights on Conejas Canyon, near Alamosa, Calo. He slept only after rescue by Army mountaineers. His fishing partner William B. Garver, 38, died last Friday in a fall down the canyon face. Sanders refused to sleep for fear of falling 300 feet.
