President Eisenhower told Canada’s Parliament in Ottawa that U S Canadian ties must not be overshadowed by differences as they cooperate to win the global struggle against communism. Francis Norman Light, 49, of Penn Township near Hanover, was charged with murder after his wife was found stabbed to death and hidden in a car trunk near a Gettysburg diner. Police said the couple had borrowed a son's car for a visit. autopsy found a thigh wound severing an artery. Light was arrested near the crime scene and jailed.
Life saving classes for swimmers from 12 years and up begin next Tuesday at Bald win pool on Stewart road. Goldfine explained a $1600 bill to cover entertaining Adams and guests, saying they were his associates and not political figures. Rescue teams moved along routes above and below a man trapped on a narrow rock ledge in Conejos Canyon for five days. The body of the trapped climber's companion, Willam Garver, 88, was found nearby. John Sanders, 35, remains on the ledge with food and water provided by Don Bewley, as helicopter efforts were thwarted by wind.
State Police report a car driven by Donald Gray struck a railroad crossing warning light in Spring Creek just before an eastbound freight. Gray, 28, from Centerville, said he dozed and ran the stop sign on Route 77. Police and railroad workers halted the train and cleared the track. $75 damage to the signal and $200 to the auto.

Alderman William Heisler urged strict penalties while juveniles face upcoming juvenile court appearances. Wiesbaden Germany The U S Air Force postponed a news conference with the nine airmen released by the Soviet Union saying they were too tired to face the press. The men arrived from Tehran displaying fatigue but were in generally good condition. One airman Peter N Sabo Chicago suffered second degree burns and Earl H Reamer St Louis Park Minn had a shaved head indicating a minor head injury.
London based Moscow radio commentator warned that American H bombers near Soviet borders keep the world on the brink of war. The remark echoed a Soviet push in the UN Security Council three months earlier.

Five year old Brenda Doud vanished Sunday from a Massena camp in the Adirondacks and was found alive two miles from Eagle Pond by three hunters from Malone and Westville. A large search force, including state police and volunteers, had scoured the woods since Sunday afternoon. She was only lightly treated for insect bites and scratches but otherwise in good condition.
A Wattsburg hospital recorded three births within six minutes yesterday morning. A daughter arrived at 8 31 to Mr and Mrs Norman Kent, a daughter at 8 32 to Mr and Mrs Gerald Hall, and a son at 8 37 to Mr and Mrs Russell Shampoe. All families reside nearby. The trio marks a likely record for the local institution.
Governor George Leader urged federal aid to boost Pennsylvania industrial growth. He spoke at the Northeast Pennsylvania Industrial Development Commission meeting, noting 22 new plants and 4400 jobs already created.
