Open House Honors Mr and Mrs Harold Matteson Golden Wedding
An open house and reception Sunday honored Mr and Mrs Harold Ruth Matteson of Spring Creek on their golden wedding anniversary. About 200 friends relatives and neighbors attended at the Spring Creek firehall. Hosts were the couple’s children Ralph Alice Williams Clymer William Marian Scott North East Ronald Elizabeth Messinger Spring Creek. Sparta Alumni Banquet Honors Longtime Graduates
More than 150 attended the 15th Annual Sparta School Alumni Banquet at the Sparta school gym. Harold C. Tubbs Sr. served as toastmaster, and Roger W. Stranaham welcomed 1974 area graduates while stressing alumni membership. Seven of eight from the class of 1924 were present for their 50th anniversary and eight of 14 from the 25th anniversary class attended. Oldest alumnus named Beth Chelton Hallett of Leon New York, class of 1906, and second oldest Lola Lindstrom, class of 1912. Thelma Jackson retired this year after 31 years of service. about 75 former students attended the banquet.
