Corry launches campaign to buy fighter plane as all day activities unfold Augmented by converted effort to sell war bonds and a pageant. The city’s fourth observance grows as preparations push toward a big half day event. Wings of Corry plan named for the fighter plane. Campaign to meet bond pledges continues.

He criticizes the gasoline ration program as inept, noting reduced production in western Pennsylvania and underused river and barge canals. The statement questions the rationing system and its effectiveness.
