Agreement Reaches End of Long Disputed Pension Bill
Washington reports United Press that congressional conferees reached a full agreement on the World War veterans pension bill, aligning with President Hoover’s objections. The pact eliminates Senate amendments, sets monthly rates from 12 to 40 dollars, and excludes disability for willful misconduct or high private income tax payers. Hoover urged swift passage and a early adjournment.
