The driver Billa L Mourer 61 of Youngsville is hospitalized at Corry Memorial after a one car crash yesterday. She was admitted with a back injury and possible concussion. Police said the incident remains under investigation.
The city last year reported a 31 million payroll from the one percent income tax. The Combined Earned Income Tax Committee foresees a one million rise this year. Receipts totaled 310,100 with half allocated to the city and the School District of Corry. Edges of shifts show some revenues paid to other districts, notably Concord Township. Corry residents working elsewhere mainly in Wayne Township support local districts, with employees commuting to Erie and surrounding areas.
Five inches of snow fell overnight in Corry area, leaving rural roads closed and main roads hazardous. Weather observer Mrs Mountain reported a 35 to 13 degree range as state police described snow covered, slippery highways with many one lane sections. Pennsylvania DOT in Erie said clearing equipment is active but drifting snow overwhelms efforts and almost all rural roads remain closed while main roads are only passable.
