Blast Fire Devastates West Conshohocken Killing One
Explosions and fierce flames from a leaking gas line and frigid winds leveled more than a dozen homes in West Conshohocken, injuring about 48 and killing a volunteer firefighter. Fire crews battled for hours amid 36 mph winds and freezing temperatures, as gas valves were shut off and ambulances ferried the injured to area hospitals.

Snowy crash causes four thousand two hundred in damage
State Police at Corry reported a 7:30 a.m. two car collision on Route 957 four miles west of Corry. Raymond G. Rapp 61 of Bear Lake stalled in a snowdrift and was rear ended by Thomas G. Felton 51 of Corry. Rapp's car $3,500 damage Felton $700. No injuries. A second accident on Route 277 west of Spartansburg caused $25 damage to a truck after it overturned in a snowdrift. No injuries. A third hit and run on Route 8 south of Union City caused $200 damage to a parked car owned by Gary J. Koenig 19 of Union City. Investigation continues. Two Die In Area Storm Moderates But Refuses To Quit
Two women died as a blizzard battered the area over two days. Diane Sue Lewis, 22, of Martinsburg, W Va, was pronounced dead on arrival at Warren General Hospital after a headon crash on Route 59 six miles from Warren. The driver of the other car was seriously injured. The event followed by continued storm coverage and an endorsement of ongoing weather warnings.
