Court Banks Try To Foil Taxpayers
Judge Charles G Hubbard dismissed all Bradford Township Supervisors objections to the Bradford Township Taxpayers Association protest against the proposed $850 000 sewage system. The order at Smethport County courthouse last Saturday cancels the Supervisors motions to amend declaratory judgment proceedings and to throw out the protest. Taxpayers spokesman said the decision ends measures to set the citizens petition aside and that Supervisors must bow to majority will or face further litigation. The protest, filed May 26, 1959, tied to a state mandated plant extension and followed eight months of mutual accusations as Bradford sought to keep the township under control through legal means.
