State Police probe into thefts of two battery operated highway warning blinker lights from the State Highway Department near Mills Village. Officer in charge Set. W. Inwin says units were taken late Tuesday night and earlier, with one stolen January 1 and the other over a Sunday night or Monday. Barricade was erected January 13 to block Route 6 due to flooding. latest theft was from a supply shed west of Hughes Corners at the Route 19 6 6N intersection. Total loss about $54 for both units.
Corry State Police reported a westbound 22 year old New York driver failed to negotiate a curve on Route 77 and crashed into a ditch near the intersection with Route 89. About 500 dollars in damage. Investigation pending results. EX UN PRESIDENT DIES IN RIO DE JANEIRO Dr Oswaldo Aranha aged 65 former Brazilian foreign minister and 1938 UN General Assembly president died yesterday of a heart attack.
North Brunswick authorities appealed to Rutgers University students for help in finding a maniacal killer who murdered four people at a country estate near New Brunswick. Middlesex County Prosecutor Warren T. Wilentz said an informant saw the suspect after the killings talking to two or three young men believed to be Ritgers students. The slayer bound and shot Edith Clarke his escort and wounded two women servants and the taxi driver who brought him. The investigator noted the possiblity of a professional killer but leaned toward a maniac with a sludge.
In Springfield Missouri Drury College faces a student revolt as 200 plus undergraduates from SMS clash with the dress for dinner edict. The protest includes a soup line on campus with messages like have soup will feed Drury in need.

Corry truck driver Elmer F. Smith Jr. veered off Titusville street to dodge stopped cars. His 1955 truck tractor, owned by Frank Darrow of Sugar Grove, struck a tree after the trailer began to jackknife. Smith was unhurt and only minor front-end damage to the vehicle was reported.
