Boxing Code Challenged by Managers in Harrisburg Court
In Dauphin County Court today two Philadelphia boxing managers Carmen Graziano and Anthony Ferrante challenged Pennsylvania's athletic code as unconstitutional after the State Athletic Commission revoked their licenses last November. Their attorney Arthur Berman argued the code grants unlawful powers to the commission and violates due process and equal protection, while the commission spokesman defended the action as standard, not arbitrary.

Boxing officials challenge Graziano Ferrante revocation
Berman argued the commission’s three charges were groundless and that Graziano and Ferrante did not act detrimentally to boxing’s interests. He disputed the claim of association with disreputable persons and said the Plaza Athletic Club contract filing was improper. He also asserted the new code wasn’t in effect during the alleged actions.
