Erie Man 22 Admits Setting Four Fires
Erie Det detectives arrested William J. Butts 22 of Erie on arson charges after he admitted starting five fires totaling about 1 025 in damage. He pled guilty at arraignment before Justice Michael J. Kinecki and was bound over to the grand jury, jailed on 2500 bail. Fires included four at an east side apartment building on Sept 1 18 Oct 17 and last Sunday and a car fire May 30 owned by Donald Weddington. Butts signed a statement admitting the arson fires.

Nab 7 Juveniles In Girard Raid
State police in Girard arrested seven juveniles for narcotics possession including marijuana. Six hailed from Fairview and one from Millcreek Township. About 10 ounces of marijuana, joints, holders, pipes, a scale and a cutter were seized. The youths were released to their parents pending juvenile court action after an investigation started January 22 into alleged marijuana distribution.
