Workers concentrated in the Lindsley Hollow area while surrounding roads were lightly cleared to restore through traffic. The effort follows two days of outdoor work due to severe cold and wet weather. Beginning Monday the force will prioritize rural roads especially near the Bigin vicinity where snow drifts blocked routes. The workers will continue snow removal until all roads are passable before proceeding to other projects.

Defense Attorney Noted in Westwood Murder Case Trial
The Westwood murder case drew notable local attention as William J. Coleman, brother of Alderman George H. Gordon, defended the accused. The jury retired after a lengthy charge by Judge William H. McNaugher and evidently favored the testimony of Mrs Sophie Sahar, who identified Jimmy Westwood as the shooter. The defense relied on an alibi at Eddie Peyton’s nightclub with two party girls and a constable, but the jurors, 12 aged about 38, appeared unconvinced.
