Firefighters from Corry Clymer and Columbus battled a second floor blaze at a Whee lock home yesterday noon. Charles Brewer 28 of Jeannette has been charged with murder in the death of his 2 year old step daughter Agnes. Police say Brewer confessed to beating and criminally attacking the child after she died at Monsour Clinic Hospital Greenstnrg following the incident.
Former Corry public schools chief Dewey died at 1:20 AM in Mamot Hospital Erie after illness. Born January 20 1494 he would have turned 5. Survived by wife Winifred Post Dewey daughter Mrs Robert Benson son Bernard A Dewey four grandchildren two sisters one brother. Body at Warren Wood Funeral Home Erie with viewing hours tomorrow and Friday. Funeral Saturday at 2 PM in Ripley for burial.
