Mrisburg January 18 Three hundred exhibitors from every county in the state are expected to enter livestock crops and farm products at the Pennsylvania Farm Show opening Monday January 23. More than 400 local livestock and poultry owners anticipated with 2900 entries in other departments totaling about 3300 exhibitors. Lancaster County likely lead with about 980, York 250, Chester 170, Lebanon 460, Cumberland 150, Dauphin 130 and others. There will also be 245 commercial exhibitors from 21 states led by Pennsylvania.
Ridgway January 18 the Gray Jury found a true bill in the murder case of Fred De Philippi alias Fred Julio charged with killing his stepfather at Kyler's Corners on Saturday November. The trial is delayed as attorney Sartwright requested a continuance and Albert L Thomas cannot attend due to involvement in the Bruno trial at Pottsville. De Philippi surrendered and has been incarcerated in Elk County.
A sedan skidded on an icy curve on the Roosevelt highway between Mr. Jewett and Kane yesterday around ten. Mr. and Mrs. H A Snyder of Saegertown Pa were treated at Community Hospital for injuries including a head laceration and three fractured ribs. A Great Dane in the back was thrown but uninjured. The car was towed to a local garage.
