Juries Award $50,000 In Two Damage Suits
Civil court juries awarded two verdicts in Erie. A $36,000 and a $14,000 damage award were returned, with the larger going to Judy Lynn Irwin and her father Delmar Irwin against United Oil Manufacturing Co. of Erie. The second case involved John Kinnear as administrator for his wife Katherine Kinnear against Elmer Dake of Rochester, linked to a fatal roadside crash near North East.

Milk Price Set For December Delivers To Six-State Area
A uniform price of 428 per hundredweight will be paid to farmers for December milk deliveries to 441 plants in the six-state New York snalkshed, announced by Dr. Blanford, market administrator. November’s price was 490 and last December 534. Butterfat differential for December is 54 cents per tenth of a pound above or below the 45 percent standard. December production rose 21.08 percent from a year ago, the highest for the month since marketing orders began in 1938. It was alleged Duke parked to blind westbound traffic. Mrs Kinnear died a week later.

Gale like winds caused widespread damage across the Corry area and western Pennsylvania. Aerials bent at Frank's Tavern and the Columbus tavern. a 20 foot chimney toppled at the A J Shepard home on Worth Street. glass blocks torn from the Ritz Restay building. street lights and trees knocked down in Pittsburgh. Wind velocity was 40 to 50 mph with gusts to 72 mph. The weather bureau forecast diminishing winds with clouds and light snow flurries and a temperature drop from 58 to 35 degrees. Local insurers reported no insured losses yet but expected a surge of claims later.
