152 Presumed Dead on Sunken British Sub
The Truculent sank after a collision and water filled the conning tower, with 33 survivors rescued in groups via a ladderway from a surface ship. An emergency buoy surfaced, unsure if triggered by internal or collision forces. The sub carried four escape watches and gear for each man. The boat lies about six miles west of the sinking point, likely drifted by tide.
