Retailers Kept Heat On Core Area Problems By James Carrig
The Retail Division acted as a downtown voice in the Plaza Picture dispute, liaising with the Parking Authority and City Council to ease the parking issue. It organized a downtown survey of merchants, promoting a unified sales program and a drive to involve visiting groups, decorations, renovating, and remodeling. The group gathered information on successful activities elsewhere to bolster local efforts. A South Vietnamese hamlet chief and a provincial council member were reported killed in the same period.
