Christmas services will be held at the American Eastern Orthodox Catholic Mission near Youngsville with Vespers at 5 p m tomorrow and Divine Liturgy on Christmas Day at 10 a m local time. Services are half English and half Slovanic under Rev Stephen Kanyan. Grant Husted, 61, of Oil City Pa railroad engineer died of a heart attack in Oil City.

Mrs Ida Taylor of Garland Dies at 72
Mrs Ida Norman Taylor of Garland died at 9 30 last night in Corry Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient since Sunday Born January 1 1883 in Pittsfield she grew up there and attended school She married William E Taylor in 1913 in Pittsfield Presbyterian Church The couple moved to Garland where she lived the rest of her life She taught in Pittsfield and Youngsville schools for six years before marriage In Garland she ran the Taylor grocery store with her husband and son for many years She was preceded in death by her husband Surviving are one son Norman W of Garland two sisters Mrs Russell Smith of Garland and Mrs Wave Carlson of Youngsville one brother Theodore A Norman of Palmer Mass and several other relatives Friends may call at Bracken Funeral Home and services will be held at 2 pm Saturday Rev Paul Bauer pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Corry officiating Burial will be in the Garland Presbyterian Cemetery The mile was established for distance measurement in Roman times says the National Geographic Society and the term comes from the Latin mille passuum or 1000 paces.
