Erie considers arbitration of civil court cases next week
Erie Pennsylvania officials discuss a new plan to arbitrate civil cases under $1000 to ease caseloads. Judge Elmer L Byers says pooled arbitrators would speed decisions and save about 50000 in county costs. A nine-lawyer panel or three arbitrators would be chosen in random draw. The plan mirrors Crawford and Butler counties and follows a recent state act. The Aga Khan’s family claims descent from Fatima in a separate note.

Service Station Operator Fined Under New Gas Law
Lawrence Buehr, operator of Beehr Service Station at 46th Street and Brown Avenue, was fined for violating a new state anti gas war law by advertising a gasoline price in large numerals with tiny supporting text. The ruling found his display misleading and an attempt to circumvent the law. Other stations were noted to have advertised similarly along 26th Street. The case marked the first test of the new statute. A Columbus Grove meeting was reported for Monday at the hall.
