Court orders full insurance in boxer's death
In Krand on February 23 Judge P Schoonmater ruled Mrs Helma Gustafson receives $4,000 double indemnity from New York Life for the boxing death of her son Even Gustafson, 22, who died after a first round blow in a Jamestown bout. The insurer argued death was not an accident as policy required. The court held boxing a lawful occupation like football and base ball, not excluded by the policy.
