Erie Locomotive Thrown From Track Near Tower

A heavy Erie freight locomotive derailed near the Maple Avenue crossing in Mondville during a blizzard. Towerman signals and weather contributed as the engine left the rails. both crewmen were shaken but unharmed. Wrecking crews from Salamanca and Maudville cleared the lines after dawn, with the locomotive damaged but soon to be recommissioned.

Investigating details indicate a dispute over windows and dinner, with Lundy alleging his daughter-in-law caused a knife clash and he used a hammer. The husband was away at the time. Warnaw Feb 21 George Harrie charged with the murder of his young wife near Percy on November 25 last took the stand all day. He described temporary mental unbalance and denied plans to kill. The cross examination focused on his state of mind and the events leading to the shooting. Harris testified he drank earlier, then spoke with his wife about leaving him and running away with another man.

Brakeman Mohr Dies After Train Incident in Renovo

Anthony Mohr Jr aged 24 freight brakeman for the Pennsylvania railroad was killed in the Renovo yards near the Works. He vanished after signaling a move then was found fatally injured near the ward. The body was taken to a local undertaker and later to Wilhooley Inter. He leaves his father and a brother Gregory Mohr editor of the Sty Maria Press.
