Stiff Sentence for Local Store Thief

John Sloan, arrested by Patrolman Ruppersburg, was convicted of larceny from Everett and Steel chain stores in the city. Five Drowned As Steamer Norge Sinks Near Haugesund

Oslo dispatch reports the steamer Norge grounded and sank near Haugesund. Two passengers, two stewardesses, and the captain were drowned within minutes as the ship went down after ten minutes at sea. Passengers were warned before disaster. captain remained on the bridge.
