In Harrisburg on Feb 21 Judge Kunkel granted 161 liquor licenses in Dauphin County with no remonstrances filed. Fourteen applications were held up under fire as ministers were accused of hypocrisy and saloon keepers faced accusations of aiding immorality. Opponents urged suspending renewals in districts without saloons to avoid demoralizing effects.
Concord New Hampshire February 21 United Press reports the Thaw case hearing finished at noon. A decision will not be announced for at least twenty days as the court grants both sides time to answer and present final arguments.
