A cottage on the Findley Lake Corry road burned when an oil furnace exploded around 3 20 PM. Dorothy Roebuck and her two daughters Susan and Kathy were away. Firemen say insurance covered some losses while another nearby cottage suffered minor damage. About 15 Findley Lake volunteers fought the two hour blaze.
