Arlington National Cemetery to bar most non-career GIs
Arlington National Cemetery will restrict burials to active duty and retired career servicemen plus Medal of Honor winners and top government officials starting next week. Non-career veterans and their dependents are largely excluded as space grows tight and about 60,000 new graves are planned nearby through 1969. The policy excludes other national cemeteries, with Vietnam era burials cited but not a major space driver.
