Oil City Children’s Aid Society of Venango County petitioned county court for custody of two youngsters found suffering from malnutrition in a tight, run-down apartment. The society charged the parents, Mr and Mrs Robert Warring, with neglect. The organization already has custody of another Warring child, Richard, 1, who is being treated for malnutrition in Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Erie city officials weighed the first portion of a half million dollar tax exemption plan for property the Parking Authority will use. The proposal would cut city revenue by about 3500 dollars and reduce school district revenue by 4500 dollars annually. The exemption targeted the parking lot at 11th and French, purchased for 185000 with a 135000 assessment.
