Legislative Joyriding Stop Move Referred to Committee

An attempt by the appropriations panel to halt legislative trips was defeated as Speaker Ambler referred a resolution to the Appropriations Committee. Narrow Escape At Mill Village

Passenger train No. Gon the Hire railroad has been stopping nightly at Old village to let an operator board. Saturday a passenger tried to alight as the door opened partly and fell, saved only by bystanders. The company refused to stop for passengers and Public Service Commission investigators in Harrisburg are probing.

Building Up Home Industries Debate At Chamber Meeting

About thirty members gathered in the council room for a chamber of commerce session on fostering local industries. Speaker McComb proposed a three year plan with three hundred members and a 26 percent first year commission, plus secretary and office costs, aiming to fund a major promotional campaign and organize the group.
