RANE COUNCIL ADOPTS $59 434 BUDGET FOR 1941
The Rane Borough Council adopted a 1941 budget of 59 434 with a 22 mill tax levy. The plan includes 15 mills for general borough tax, 5 mills for street improvements, and 2 mills for welfare services, an overall increase of 4 791 from last year. A $150 rise over the tentative budget covers police equipment purchases, offset by a reduction in unallocated funds. The measure passed unanimously. The council also welcomed Kane High School students to discuss road improvements at Evergreen Park for ice skating, with the Student Council members present.
