In Djibouti on the Somali border a hijacked bus carrying 30 French children and two adults was stormed by French sharpshooters. Seven people died including four hijackers, two Somali soldiers, and a French girl. Four children were wounded. The ordeal began Tuesday when gunmen demanded independence and the release of prisoners.
Erie County Commissioners backed a 2.1 million senior housing project in Albion. The county will guarantee bonds and finance support to the 65 unit development on the old Albion High School site, with First Allegheny Construction of Erie as builder. Construction should start within three months and occupancy is hoped for by December 1977.
The United States government gained ownership of a Corry mobile home park by court order from US District Court Judge Gerald Weber. The Hare Creek Mobile Home Park, mortgaged in 1971 for 319000 to Venango Federal Savings and Loan, defaulted in February 1974. HUD now rents, taxes, and operates the park and must file quarterly activity reports while seeking a buyer.
Michael Wolosz Jr., 19, of B D 1 Corry, is listed in satisfactory condition at Corry Memorial Hospital after an accidental gunshot wound to the left leg. He was cleaning a rifle at home when it discharged, and Spartansburg Fire Department ambulance transported him to the hospital for ER treatment and observation.
