In Glendale California a 13 year old girl, Lynn Ann Barillier, died after a suicide note linked to Freddie Prinze the star of Chico and the Man. Police released the five page note saying she could not go on and wished to be buried near Prinze. She died 28 hours after being injured at Verdugo Hills Hospital. She planned burial at Forest Lawn Glendale near Prinze's grave.
Corry state police report Velva Anchler, 21, of West Hickory riding with Joanne Armagost, 20, in a Centerville area collision. Anchler, already in a leg cast, was hospitalized after the crash that caused $200 damage to a Wetherbee wagon and $300 to the Armagost car.
Harrisburg reports an easing weather situation allowing most schools to reopen today while officials warn of possible flooding from mid March thaw. Gov. Shapp urges flood insurance and warns ice trouble could be greater than usual though not certain as gas curtailments still affect about 20 percent of schools.
