Chautauqua Sheriff Resigns After 1962 Service
MAYVILLE Chautauqua County Sheriff Charles C. McCloskey Jr. resigns effective Monday to become director of the Division of Police Administration Services in the New York State Office for Local Government. Commissioner John J. Burns announced the appointment, which pays $19,674 annually and will serve more than 600 municipalities and police agencies as a central information hub for crime reporting, mobilization, manpower, equipment use, and records management.
