Prospects Brighter for Steel Industry in 1935
United Press reports from Youngstown that 1934 steel ingot production reached about 25.6 million tons, the best since 1930 and up 10 percent from 1933, aided by auto output. Prospects for 1935 foresee further expansion in steel tied to investment, yet heavy industries like railroads and construction remain dormant until demand revives. Government spending and calm labor relations are cited as key factors for broader recovery.
