Funeral for Charles Cogswell to be held at Emmanuel Church

The remains of Charles Cogswell, reported dead in Mendville, will arrive in Gary Ac Asdaam tomorrow morning by train. The body will be taken to Emmanuel Church at Joel at one o clock, where a funeral service will begin at two. Roy Sharpley will officiate, with interment at Ping Grove Cemetery. A large turnout from Meadville Erie Warren is expected as relatives and friends travel to attend.

Fire at Kurtz Plant Chronically Damages Mill

A fire alarm at about five this morning drew the fire department to Kurtz Brass and Hed Company plant. Stanford firemen arrived promptly but smoke and flames had already breached the building, with the watchman reporting significant damage before containment.
