New York unions under Nixon labor nominee Peter Brennan faced scrutiny for limited minority membership. Denenberg Report Raps Governments for Consumer Wins
Pennsylvania Insurance Commissioner Herbert Denenberg released a 140 page Consumer's Report for 1971 72 to the People of Pennsylvania noting the public seeks security and opportunity and that government must deliver. He says the department saved consumers more than 225 million dollars in the year ended June 30 by denying insurer premium hikes and reforming policies with savings projected to top 340 million next year. He asserts state action outpaces federal efforts, urging further insurance law reforms and advocating Medicare HEW changes.
