At an intersection six miles from Sublette Kansas two autos collided killing seven people and injuring seven others. Driver Lawrence Blakeley of Dodge City and his wife Dana plus her sister Pauline and Pauline s husband James Simmons and their six month old son Todd were among the dead. Also killed were Mrs Dora Saldiver, her mother Mrs Sabena Gonzales, and two Saldiver children Nettie and Cindy aged about one. The Saldivers had recently moved to Seont from Post Texas and had been in Texas for a brief holiday. The intersection had stop signs at U S 6 and U S 83. Roads were dry and clear.
