Car Hits PR Freight. Six Uninjured in Snow Crash
A car driven by Frank Mentch and carrying his wife Mildred and four children struck a slow moving Pennsylvania Railroad freight at an unguarded eastside crossing in light snow. The family escaped injury as the car hit the engine, glare from streetlights and business signs obscured the view. The train, traveling about five miles per hour, was believed to have been moving when the collision occurred near Warren to Erie. Engineer R A Anderson and conductor Vince Burrella reported the train did not stop, thinking the car had halted.

Girard Girl Dies From Candle Burns at Shrine Hospital
Delinda Sue Smith a two year old girl of Girard died at Shrine Burns Hospital in Cincinnati after sustaining second and third degree burns when a candle ignited her night clothes. She had been flown to the hospital with a doctor and nurse after the accident at home last Friday. The body will be flown to Erie this evening.
