Warren County Faces Return Of Rail Service Cuts

Warren County may lose all rail service as the United States Railway Association designates the Penn Central line from Warren to Erie as potentially excess. The designation could sever Warren from any rail connectivity if Congress approves the plan. Warren County Rail Task Force members and local leaders pushed to prevent cuts, amid criticism of the association’s hidden methods and past bureaucratic errors that briefly altered Warren’s freight status. The issue follows a broader regional rail reorganization and economic concerns for Warren’s eastern corridor. In Olympia, Washington, Republican Dan Evans led a two mile run with state officials after elections.
