Downpour floods town. Faith Church hit hard on West Washington

A heavy rainstorm drenched the city turning streets into torrents and flooding basements. Faith Church on West Washington street extension suffered the worst beating while fog elsewhere forced drivers to slow down. no highway crashes were reported.

City Weather Breach Sparks Floods in Corry Area

A warm trend and heavy rainfall unleashed floods across Erie and Crawford counties. Roads flooded, basements filled, and Harborcreek High School closed as French Creek rose toward flood levels. Emergency crews responded to 900 to 1,000 sewer calls amid widespread damage.

Floods Hit Western Pennsylvania as Snow Melt Rising Waters

Rain and melting snow pushed western Pennsylvania creeks over banks flooding secondary roads and buildings. Water bodies were not expected to crest until today. Flooding spread from Lawrence, Beaver, and Butler counties east to Clarion and toward the New York border. French Creek near Meadville stood nine feet above normal and was due to crest Thursday. Schools closed in one Cleveland suburb as the unusual February floods continued. Hastlake mayor Morris Becker lamented repeated flooding this year.
